I saw my 9-year old daughter greatly improve in her musical skills thanks to Ms. Melody's dedication to encourage students to reach their full potential! My daughter has experienced a few different piano teachers, and Ms. Melody shines above the rest in teaching piano playing and music theory. Thank you Ms. Melody for encouraging young children's love for music!

Ms Melody's name is so very fitting for her talents and personality! We are so glad and lucky to have found her through a quick internet search. Her technical background definitely looks very good on paper, but she is so much more than that. Our son started learning piano with Ms Melody when he was just 4 years old. Even at his young age, Ms Melody treated him with respect and was able to speak and listen to him at his level. She was able to keep his attention and was able to gage when he needed time to just play around. She has a naturally patient demeanor, but is also strict at times, able to detect and hone in on talent, stretching our child's ability. She rewards her students and shows encouragement no matter how big or small their progress. Even during the pandemic, Ms Melody was able to hold "distance" lessons effectively. While holding this lesson format, it still felt as if she was next to our son, carefully watching his fingers and able to listen to changes in dynamics. Realizing our son's innate musical capabilities, she was able to push him forward to more difficult pieces in a short period of time, skipping books along the way, and providing pieces that were still appropriate for his little hands. She has different methods of determining talent, one of which was a test of pitch. We were surprised and proud to find out that our son had perfect pitch. We don't mean to sound so braggy, but it's great when parents are surprised to find out something new about their child... almost like when he took his first steps as a toddler :) Not only did Ms Melody teach piano, she also taught voice, flute, ukelele and many others. She was well loved during her residence in the D.C. area and she was able to create a warm and loving community in her neighborhood as well. Parents from different states such as Virginia, Maryland, and even the District of Columbia were united within her "Music Room". She hosted several recitals across all the musical genres held at both community halls and even her own home, providing beautiful decorations, delicious food/refreshments, awards and giveaways. We truly appreciate and missed her a lot... Highly recommend her!!! :-)

Ms. Melody is the best piano teacher I've ever met. She taught my two very energetic sons (ages 10 and 8), and she managed their energy in such a positive way. Her passion for teaching music is evident. She taught my sons how to read notes, inspired them to love playing the piano, and instilled a work ethic in their practicing skills that I had never seen before. Their piano skills increased exponentially under her teaching, and the entire military community on base misses her tremendously. If you want a teacher who cares about your child, who makes you feel like family, and who teaches piano in a brilliant manner, Ms. Melody is the teacher for you!

This was my daughter's first singing lesson. Melody was very accommodating with my wife and I observing our daughter. With a musical background myself, I immediately knew that Melody had immense knowledge not only about singing, but also the theory and technique that all singers should learn.

My daughters, 8 and 6, took lessons as beginners from Melody for 10 months before we had to move. SHE IS AMAZING! Not only did she make the lessons fun and engaging, but they learned so much in that short time. I grew up playing piano, violin and French horn and I was very impressed with her approach/methodology and how much of herself she put into her teaching. For the last 3 months we were with Melody, the girls also took voice lessons. The highlight of our spring was watching the girls perform at the recital Melody had so painstakingly organized. It was astounding how much they had progressed musically and my husband and I were in awe at how well they performed in front of people. We were also impressed at the wide range of experience in the students Melody taught. Some had played for years and were clearly continuing to blossom under Melody's tutelage, while others were beginners like our daughters. Melody was always positive, encouraging and extremely patient (even when my six year old had clearly not practiced for a week straight or was tired and whiny). My daughters and I miss her dearly as our mentor and now our friend! We cannot recommend her highly enough.

Melody has done a wonderful job teaching my daughter who so confidently played 3 pieces and 1 duet piece with her. The recital was very organized and professionally done. I am continually impressed with her love, patience and dedication to her students. I would definitely refer her to anyone looking for a piano teacher.

Ms Melody is a great teacher. My five year old son enjoys his lesson and looks forward to coming weekly, not to mention the monthly play date Ms Melody offers to all her students which is really fun and helpful. From knowing nothing about piano to being confident at a recital in just five months is outstanding. Ms Melody is nice, patient, and has true love for her students.

Mrs. Melody has been very wonderful in meeting our needs for piano lessons as a family. She works well with my 3, 6 and 9 year old children. She makes piano fun while still encouraging confidence, discipline, a sense responsibility and attention to detail during piano lessons.

I am an adult and took piano lessons from Melody. I was very pleased with the experience and felt that the instruction was great. She was very patient which was helpful because I would feel nervous playing sometimes. Lessons started on time which was helpful given my busy schedule. Overall very enjoyable.

My son was 5 years old when he began piano lessons with Ms. Melody. Each week, he was eager to go to the lessons and always had big smile on his face after the lessons. Through the lessons, he learned how to read music notes and play songs beautifully at recitals. Ms. Melody is fun and firm in teaching. She’s the perfect teacher to unlock a child’s potential. We really appreciate Ms. Melody for opening music to our son and our family.

Ms. Melody was always very patient with me. She learned the way I played and accommodated to help me improve personally. During the two years that she was my piano teacher, my skills greatly improved. Playing the piano became more simple and music often came naturally. She is incredibly skilled and caring towards all her students, and I was lucky enough to be one of them. I was very sad when I found out she was moving out of my state and would no longer be my piano teacher. Ms. Melody is an amazing woman and her new students will be excited to learn to play the piano.

Melody is an inspiring piano teacher. She wasn't only complete the lesson, she makes sure my daughter understood the theory and played correctly. She adjusted the lesson plan according to the kid's needs. My daughter loves the tools and tricks, she brought in, to help remembering notes. She really takes pride in teaching music, it shows in the recitals of all her students.

I had the good fortune of sending my younger daughter to Ms.Melody for piano lessons. I don't know where to begin, since she has many qualities! From a knowledge perspective, she is very technical, articulate and knows her stuff. She has certificates from both ABRSM and Trinity and so is well versed with the technicalities and syllabi of those exam boards. She is not only a pianist but plays the guitar and is a voice coach. But where she distinguishes herself is when she is engaged in teaching the children. She is a good instructor and has the ability to change, adapt and customize lessons to each children's needs. She is friendly, but firm when needed and the kids love her. Her pleasant, friendly demeanor and easily approachable nature endears her to children and adult like. She inspires and instills confidence in children, so music lessons with Ms.Melody are never boring or tiresome for children. We were sorry to see her move to Michigan but Virginia's loss is Michigan's gain!

Melody is a wonderful teacher and not only has the patience to teach little ones but also has the right approach to get them interested in music. My daughter always looked forward to the weekly lessons and we were sad when she moved. We know that she'll continue to bring other families lots of joy and musical success! My daughter had the privilege of taking piano lessons with Ms. Melody for about a year and a half. Melody was patient and kind and made my daughter's first experience with music lessons enjoyable and productive. We were sad when Melody moved away, but our loss is your gain! Trust me, this is the teacher you have been looking for.
