If you are new here and looking for a way to keep your kids growing and learning during this new normal, you are welcome here!

It is good that we can enjoy the benefits of live online piano lessons! It is easy, convenient, and fun, all from the comfort of home. Melody has worked to develop online lesson options that are customized to each student. Below is a guide for parents and students to get the most out of the online lessons. 

THE SET UP

For online lessons to be successful, you will need a smartphone or a tablet. The teacher should be able to see the student's side profile and their hands on the piano keys. The parent is suggested to be present in the first 5-10 minutes to ensure that the camera is working correctly. 

THE SOFTWARE

If you have an apple device, that works great. We can use Facetime, Facebook Messenger, Zoom or Skype.

ONLINE LESSON

Online lessons are very similar to in-person lessons. Most things are the same except that the teacher won't be able to play with the student simultaneously due to audio delay.

The teacher will have a copy of the student's books for reference, corrections and illustrations.  Homework will be emailed to the parent.  This will save time from writing on the practice journal or assignment notebook.
